Frequently, we are asked to perform an action that will not let our client achieve his goal. In this situation, we recommend against that action, even if our recommendation reduces our charges to our client.
One of my favorite statements is: I will be glad to spend your money, but I do not believe that this expense will help you achieve your objective. (Mr. E. R. Pearson to attorney client). No client has persisted after I have explained my reasons for this statement.
LAWSUIT SERVICES
In all our legal work, we start with the legal position that the attorney intends to take. With knowledge of this position, we focus our efforts on developing the technical statements that support the legal position. Of course, we do not undertake, or continue, an assignment if we do not believe, or find we cannot believe, that the technical data support the legal position.
Patent lawsuits: we have assisted attorneys in lawsuits concerning defense of infringement and prosecution of infringement. Both suits were settled to the satisfaction of our client.
Product liability lawsuits: we have assisted attorneys in establishing a case of liability against a manufacturer whose product proved defective after installation. Our client won at trial.
Installation lawsuits: we have assisted attorneys in four lawsuits involving installation organizations. Pearson Technologies knowledge of fiber optic products enabled adequate defense of the positions of the installers.
Damage and liability lawsuits: we have assisted clients in assessing the cost of damage and liability in cases of conflict between installers and end users.

TECHNICAL SERVICES
Installation services: we made our first fusion splice in 1978, installed our first connector in 1982. Since that time, we have performed installations for many organizations, such as the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Los Angeles Department of Power and Water, Mitsubishi Motor Corp., Callaway Gardens, Hughes Electronics, Paramount Studios, Union Oil, Turner Broadcasting and Houston Power and Light. This wide variety of experience enables our installation of almost any connector and cable system in most locations. Network testing services: with multiple wavelength test equipment for both multimode and singlemode fiber, we test and certify installed networks for maximum reliability.
Network design: Pearson Technologies Inc. has been prime designer of 32 networks and systems and a review designer for hundreds more. We have designed data networks, video transmission systems, PTL video systems, process control systems, multifunctional networks, and WDM links.
